Abstract

Women who do not want to use contraception in the future generally suggest reasons related to birth control, such as health problems. Source of service is too far, and the cost is too expensive Meanwhile, among married men who do not want to use contraceptive devices, the most reported reason is because they are afraid of side effects. The purpose of this study is to describe the reasons for fertile couples who need contraceptives but do not use contraception. This research is descriptive research. Variable in this research is single variable that is Reason Age Couple Age. In this research, nonprobability sampling with sampling technique saturated data sampling. all couples of childbearing age who need contraception but not using contraceptives recorded in Blawe Village Purwoasri Subdistrict Kediri Regency as many as 20 people. The research quisioner research instrument was conducted on February 18-21, 2016, data analysis of percentage frequency distribution. The results of the study of 16 respondents almost entirely (81%) or 13 respondents argued because of the prohibition of religion. A small number (13%) or 2 respondents reasoned for fear of side effects. Almost all of the respondents have a belief that using contraceptives is unlawful, because they think it will kill something that lives like a sperm.
